Our August Luncheon will be a wealth of information with guest speakers State Senator Darwin Booher and State Representative Larry Inman.  Doug Merriam the West Michigan Public Policy Director will be the moderator at this luncheon.

State Senator: Darwin Booher was re-elected to the Michigan Senate in November 2014.  Among the many committees that Booher both chairs and sits on he has earned the following recognitions as a legislature.  

*Champion of Commerce Award from the Michigan Chamber
*Legislator of the Year by the Michigan Association of Timbermen in 2008
*Legislator of the Year by the Michigan Township Association in 2009 and 2012
*Michigan Township Association Legislator of the Year in 2012
*Michigan Association of Counties Legislator of the Year in 2012
*State Friend of MSU Extension in 2012
*Friend of Public Health by the Michigan Local Public Health Association 2014

State Representative: Larry Inman was elected to the Michigan House of Representatives in November 2014.  Inman was a Grand Traverse County Commissioner for 22 years.  Inman chairs and sits on many Appropriation committees.

Doug Merriam serves on the Michigan Public Policy Staff based in Lansing.  He supports the grassroots government affairs activities of local associations, brokerages, and WCR chapters to promote the business interests of the association membership while lobbying elected officials in our region on real estate interests.  Doug is an Eagle Scout with degrees from Oakland University and Western Michigan University.  He grew up in Saginaw and now lives in Grand Rapids.  Doug loves the Chicago Blackhawks.
